MY BODY MY CHOICE, 2022

An oversized marble pill displays the feminist slogan "MY BODY MY CHOICE" which is used in protests around the world to highlight the right of self determination over one's own body in sexual, marital and reproductive decisions.

The object was projected in summer 2022 as a response to the drastic U.S. political decision to abolish the national right of abortion, 50 years after it was obtained. Although in Italy the law allows abortion under certain conditions, the far right government continues to make access to abortion difficult and many doctors refuse to practice it. MY BODY MY CHOICE was literally carved in marble stone and represents the importance of an individual's freedom of choice.
